Locum tenens means, "to hold the place of, to substitute for." In the context of healthcare, locum tenens refers to temporarily taking on a medical position, typically in hospitals or clinics, often to fill staffing gaps. Locums roles offer flexibility, exposure to diverse medical settings, and potential for higher pay.
Click the "Physician Sign Up" button and fill out the access request form to let us know that you're interested in finding temporary opportunities. We'll create a free account for you, and invite you by email to confirm and complete your physician profile.
When we invite you to confirm and complete your physician profile, you'll receive a sign-up link via email. Our platform will automatically fill your profile with as much information as possible–gathered from a number of national health industry databases and registries. Simply click through the intuitive online workflow, and review and update the information as necessary. This process usually takes up to 15 minutes, but can be considerably less if your information is up-to-date.
After your clinical credentials are complete, you can set your locum tenens opportunity preferences via your WabuHealth account. Simply log in at our website and add job preferences to your profile. When opportunities are listed which we believe are a great match for you, we will notify you.
If you would like to apply for a locum tenens opportunity, simply log in at our website and click "I'm Interested" on the opportunity you'd like to apply for. We'll connect you with the right person at the hiring facility to schedule an interview. If you complete the interview process and both you and the hiring facility agree that it's a good fit, we'll handle the contracting and administration so that you can focus on the new locum tenens placement!
